"News" This Week
Well, so far, this week has been quite "news worthy" (going to apologize now, this is going to be full of links). We've seen China and the US have a pissing contest in Copenhagen, NASA launch a new observation satellite into space called WISE, Obama announce that 100 prisoners from Gitmo will be moved to Thomson, Illinois ... and the community's actually happy about it, a branch of Microsoft in China blatantly steal code from a small start up company (in their defense, they did apologize), for the first time ever, two Cy Young award winners traded, gaming fans release a full-length Legend of Zelda film called The Hero of Time (which is blocked in China, thank you very much #GFW), and finally, according to the China Daily, Japanese girls prefer to marry Chinese men over Japanese men ... stop laughing, it's in the China Daily, so it's true
.
So, what's my take on these stories? Some of them entertain me, others I could really care less about. What's news to you?

1. I cant believe the trade
I cant believe the trade activity over the last 2 weeks in the MLB. first a blockbuster involving Kurtis Granderson (to the yanks), Edwin Jackson (to the Dbacks) and Max Scherzer (to the tigers) and a plethora of young blue chip talent mainly going to detroit and the dbacks. Then Lee and Halliday are traded in a 3 team swap with the mariners obviously coming out on top with top notch, cant miss prospects at a low low price. It's been crazy. All this time, our cubbies have been sitting on their hands, hand cuffed with huge contracts that spread over several years for underachieving players. We have several years before we will have anything to be excited about man. Sucks!
2. Haven't really been all that
Haven't really been all that excited about baseball since I came to China ... hard to watch any over here. The games aren't broadcast on any international channels and you have to pay to watch them online, so I don't watch.
Anyway, shitty to hear that the Cubs are kinda screwed for the next few years. I was hoping this new owner would come in and stir things up a little.
